1867 GUSTAF MÖLLENBORG-FERON Neo-Rokoko Skål På Fot I Äkta Silver

A gorgeous antique lifted bowl from 1867 by Gustaf Möllenborg-Féron in a magnificent Neo-Rococo design. Made with a wonderful floral motif that is filled with stunning details.

The company Gustaf Möllenborg-Féron was founded in 1821 by Gustaf Féron who immigrated with his family to Stockholm at 1818 from the town of Maubeuge in Northern France. He was a master goldsmith, and the company was one of the biggest in the industry at the time.

The business was inherited by his son, Carl Theodor F. in 1851 and was eventually closed in 1927.

Carl F. then donated the company's silver workshop with all fixtures and tools to the Nordic Museum, which set it up in the Goldsmith's Workshop at Skansen, because it exemplifies in an excellent way the break between old and new that characterizes Swedish metalwork in the middle of the 19th century.

The item itself is a sculptural piece of art that exemplifies extreme attention to detail by one of the greatest gold & silversmiths in Sweden in the 1800s.
