Hadrian Roman Denarius Coin 137 AD

This silver Roman denarius coin was minted in 137 AD during the reign of Emperor Hadrian (117-138). The obverse features a bust of Hadrian, facing right. It's inscribed with 'HADRIANVS AVG COS IIII', indicating he was Emperor (AVG) and had held the office of Consul four times (COS IIII). The reverse depicts the goddess Felicitas (Happiness) extending her hand to Hadrian. It is inscribed with 'FELICITAS' surrounding the image.
