En såsskål - Arthur Percys Vinranka från 1938. I bra skick, givet ålder men tidens tand har gjort sitt i form lättare missfärgningar på insidan av skålen (se bilder). Utsidan tycker jag är i fint skick.

Storlek: 17 x 12 cm själva skålen och 21 x 15 cm fatet under.

Älskar historien kring denna serie. Vinranka visades för första gången inför världsutställningen i New York 1939. Formgivaren Arthur Percy bidrog med ett fat med dekor i flytande blått som blev en av servisens första delar. Med sina små druvklasar och vinlövskrans i koboltblått påminde Vinranka om 1800-talets rokokoinspirerade teserviser. Tekniken för att skapa flytande blått hämtades från 1700–1800-talets England, där tillverkarna ville efterlikna kinesiskt porslin. Koksalt adderades i bränningen, vilket löste upp färgen och fick den att flyta ut. Blått var den enda färgen som klarade hela processen.

Arthur Percy 'Vinranka' Sauce Boat Blue and White 1938

This Arthur Percy 'Vinranka' sauce boat from 1938 is in good condition. The inside of the bowl has some light discolouration (see pictures). The outside of the bowl is in excellent condition. The sauce boat measures 17 x 12 cm and the plate measures 21 x 15 cm. This series has a fascinating history. 'Vinranka' was first displayed at the New York World's Fair in 1939. Designer Arthur Percy contributed a plate with a blue decoration and it was one of the first pieces in the series. With its small grape clusters and cobalt blue vine wreath, 'Vinranka' reminded people of the 19th century Rococo-inspired tea sets. The technology of creating the flowing blue was obtained from 18th and 19th-century England, where manufacturers wanted to emulate Chinese porcelain. Rock salt was added during the firing process to dissolve the colour and make it flow out. Blue was the only colour that could withstand the entire process.
