Switzerland St Gallen Abbey Ulrich IV Silver Pfennig

This is a rare silver pfennig from the Abbey of St Gallen in Switzerland, dating back to the reign of Ulrich IV (1167-1199). It is known as a "vierzipfliger pfennig", which means it has four points. This particular pfennig is classified as HMZ 1-460a and is described in the literature by Klein/Ulmer (CC) 60, Cahn 151. It does not bear a date. The coin features a depiction of a lamb to the left within a thick circle of pearls. The inscription "MONETA SCI GALLI" is present, but part of it is not fully legible. The coin is in good condition and displays some beautiful features. It is also a rare find! The coin is well-preserved for its age, with beautiful details. It may show signs of normal wear and tear, but its historical significance makes it an excellent piece for any coin collector.
