This is an oversized original woodcut of a Parforce hunt. Likely to promote a circus event, the poster was likely produced circa 1860 and is a large-scale dynamic depiction of a Parforce hunt, a type of organised hunting practice popular in the 1800s. This particular poster is likely promotiong Glückwerth(?)'s Circus. It shows several riders on horses, including two female riders, and their dogs. Some are jumping over fences, others are running along the ground, all amidst a hilly landscape and showcasing the excitement of the hunt. This impressive woodcut is printed on light paper that has been folded three times. It has a number of minor creases as a result of being folded and a tear in the edge. However, the print, its details, and the dynamic nature of the piece have remained preserved despite its age.
