This Criterion Collection DVD of Barfly stars Mickey Rourke and Faye Dunaway. Directed by Barbet Schroeder, the film is a darkly comedic and moving portrayal of the lives of two alcoholics struggling to find their way in the world. Barfly tells the story of Henry Chinaski, a down-on-his-luck writer who is constantly trying to find a way to get by. After a series of bad decisions and a series of run-ins with the law, he meets Wanda, a fellow alcoholic, and finds solace in their mutual misery. It is a classic, darkly comic film which is a must for fans of Mickey Rourke. Roger Ebert praised the film as a must see, and it received several awards, including a Golden Globe nomination. This is a DVD version of the film with original languages and subtitles, and it features special features such as an audio commentary by Barbet Schroeder. It's in excellent condition with only minor signs of wear and tear.
