This mic was as far as I know an accessory to the Revox A77 tape machine, and made by Beyerdynamic , Germany for Studer/Revox. I've compared to my Sennheiser MD421 and they sounded pretty similar, except the Revox had more mid range (a few dB more around 1.5k) Sounded great on guitar cabinet, with open sounding top end, and tight bass response.
