Modelfly, Battle of Britain Spitfire, skala 1:48 1/48 Hobbymaster model af Bob Does Battle of Britain Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I – X4036 / D-AZ, No. 234 Squadron, RAF Middle Wallop, England, August 1940. Ny model. I original æske. Ligger i ubrudt plastik. Hobby Master HA7816 1:48 Air Power Series Diecast Model 1:48 Scale. Length: 7.5". Wingspan: 9.2". Limited production of approximately 500 models worldwide Robert Francis Thomas "Bob" Doe, DSO, DFC & Bar, born 10th March 1920 died 21st February 2010, aged 89, was a British fighter pilot and flying ace. He flew with the Royal Air Force during the Battle of Britain, was hailed as the third highest scoring ace in the Battle, and was seconded to the Indian Air Force during the Burma campaign. Doe completed his flight training in November 1939 and joined the 234 Squadron. On August 15 1940 Doe claimed his first victory, a Messerschmitt Bf-110 followed the next day by a Bf-109 and a Dornier Do-18. August 18 saw him claim another Bf-109 and damaging another. Rounding out August Doe shared a Ju-88 on the 21st and destroyed a Bf-109 on the 26th. By the end of WWII Doe had scored 14 kills, 2 shared, 1 probable and 5 damaged. Robert Doe retired in 1966 as a Wing Commander.
