Antique pencil sketch by Axel Johansen
W.19.5cm H. 17cm. Axel Johansen was asked by Professor Jerndorff to help him with the restoration of the main hall of Copenhagen University. This was to prove very valuable later on in his career. He developed a technique which was to be the foundation for the complete restoration of the Frieze which he was commissioned to do in 1936.
