Jos Verheugen - Free after Mondrian, with blue tits (M783, oil paint on trash wood)

JOS VERHEUGEN, a Dutch painter in Paris. Mondrian with blue tits (Parus caeruleus, pimpelmees, mésange bleue, Blaumeise), oil paint on trash wood. Like his famous predecessor Piet Mondrian, Jos Verheugen has Dutch roots. But unlike Mondrian, his art work is purely figurative. In his series "Free after Mondrian" Verheugen transforms the abstract compositions of his compatriot by adding figurative elements, animals, and especially voluptuous women, creating a third dimension in Mondrian's two-dimensional paintings. The paintings are framed by the artist himself in a Mondrian-like style to preserve Mondrian's "neoplastic" aesthetic. The quoted dimensions include the frame. The goods are shipped directly from the artist's workspace to the buyer, the package includes an invoice (also a certificate of authenticity).
