C.S. Lewis Out of the Silent Planet

Out of the Silent Planet, also known as “Space Trilogy” is a 1938 science fiction novel by C.S. Lewis, an English writer and scholar. It's the first book of his science fiction trilogy, followed by Perelandra in 1943 and That Hideous Strength in 1945. The novel tells the story of a Cambridge University academic, Elwin Ransom, who is kidnapped and taken to the planet Malacandra (Mars in our solar system) and encounters a Martian race in this story. The book is a classic of science fiction and has been praised for its vivid imagination, philosophical depth, and exploration of themes of faith, hope, and love. Out of the Silent Planet has endured as a literary staple and was also adapted into a radio series, which debuted on the BBC network in 1984.
