Langley's Aerodrome Model 1903

This vintage aviation postcard shows the Model of Langley's 'Aerodrome,' a 1903 experimental man-carrying aeroplane. This groundbreaking aircraft was developed by Prof. S. P. Langley in the USA based on his previous successes. It was tested in October and December 1903, but unfortunately failed to take flight on either occasion. This postcard comes from The Science Museum, London and bears the catalogue number No. 143.
