English W H Grindley Melbourne Flow Blue terrin. Melbourne Flow Blue was made by W H Grindley between 1891-1914. Approx 36.5 cm long Approx 23 cm wide Approx 18.5 cm high In very good condition with a few craquelure marks, mainly on the underside of the lid, but also a few on the lid. There is also a small glaze fault on the lid, but I only discovered it after careful inspection. Flow blue is a blue and white porcelain pattern, but it differs from traditional Blue Willow and other sharp transferware designs. Instead, the blue in the design is intentionally a little blurred, an effect that is a result of adding lime to the kiln when the piece was fired.
