Harbour entrance in a storm by F.A. Breuhaus de Groot

Velbevaret stand. Rengjort af vores eget restaureringsteam og forsynet med ny lak. F.A. Breuhaus de Groot lærte malerkunsten af sin far og tog derefter undervisning på Akademiet for Billedkunst i Haag. Han foretrak at male udsigt over havet, havnen og floden, ofte i en romantisk "setting" af storm eller hårdt vejr.

Oil painting by F.A. Breuhaus de Groot (1824-1872). The motif shows a three-masted schooner sailing into harbour in a storm. The painting is in good condition. It has been cleaned by our own restoration team and provided with new varnish. F.A. Breuhaus de Groot learned the art of painting from his father and then took lessons at the Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague. He preferred to paint landscapes of sea, harbor and river, often in a romantic 'setting' of storm or bad weather.
