This Roman denarius of Nerva was struck in Rome, dating back to 97 AD. The denarius is made of silver and measures 18mm in diameter. The obverse features a portrait of Nerva in right-facing profile, with the inscription 'IMP NERVA CAES AVG - P M TR P II COS III PP', which translates to 'Imperator Nerva Cæsar Augustus Pontifex Maximus Tribunicia Potestas Consul tertium Pater Patriæ', (Emperor Nerva Caesar Augustus High Priest invested with tribunitian power Consul for the third time father of the fatherland). On the reverse, we see a figure of Equity (Æquitas) standing left, holding a weight in her right hand and a cornucopia in her left. The inscription 'AEQVITAS - AVGVST' translates to 'Æquitas Augusti', (Augustus' equity).
