Winter's Bone is a 2010 American thriller film directed by Debra Granik. The film is based on Daniel Woodrell's novel of the same name. It follows Ree Dolly, a poor 17-year-old girl living in the Ozarks of Missouri. Ree attempts to protect her family and their home by finding her father, who has disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Winter's Bone was nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and Jennifer Lawrence received a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Ree.
