Paris Blues is a 1961 American film directed by Martin Ritt. The film is about two American jazz musicians, Ram Bowen (Paul Newman) and Eddie Cook (Sidney Poitier), who work in a nightclub in Paris. Ram has moved to Paris to become a recognized musician, while Eddie is there to escape the growing racism in the United States. One day they meet two American tourists, Lillian Corning (Joanne Woodward) and Connie Lampson (Diahann Carroll), who are on a two-week vacation in Paris. Ram falls in love with Lillian, and Eddie falls in love with Connie.
