Emanuël van Meteren - History of the Wars and the History of Holland

This is a 10-part edition of Emanuël van Meteren's History of the Wars and the History of Holland and its neighbours, beginning in 1315 and ending in 1611. It is decorated with portraits of the most important figures of the time. The book is bound in half-leather with a title shield and is in poor condition. The leather is dried out and there is a loss of head and/or foot of the book. The leather is torn on the spine of some parts. There are exlibris on the covers and the inner margin is open in places of the number of parts. Some pages are glued together. Inner is discoloured/tanned/torn. The book block for four parts is loose. The book contains a frontispiece, full-page engraving and 84 engravings. Part 1 has a loss of leather on the back and the leather is torn. Paper loss on the back. The book block is falling apart. Part 2: Loss of leather on the back and the leather is torn. Part 3: Loss of leather head and back. The leather is torn and the book block is falling apart. Part 5: The leather spine is torn vertically. Part 7: The leather spine is torn vertically. Part 9: The spine strip is only attached to the right knee. Part 10: Some sections become loose, the book block is divided in places, the bottom left corner torn in two. Sent by registered mail.
