Otto Christensen ( 1898-1982) Portrait of American violinist, Samuel Dushkin. October 1935. Dimensions: 12 x 19 inches. Description: Pencil and charcoal on wove watermarked paper Signed with the artist’s monogram: Otto.C to the lower right. Inscribed in Danish on the back: Samuel Dushkin. Amerikansk violinist. Rare performance portrait of Samuel Dushkin doing a recital on his Stradivarius in the great hall of the Odd-Fellows Palace in Copenhagen, Denmark. The performance took place on 14 October 1935. Samuel Dushkin was joined by Russian composer, Igor Stravinsky who was conducting.
