The Dark Knight Rises is a 2012 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character Batman, produced by Warner Bros. Pictures. Directed by Christopher Nolan, who co-wrote the screenplay with his brother Jonathan Nolan, it is the third and final installment in Nolan's Batman trilogy and follows Bruce Wayne in his conflict with Bane, a new threat to Gotham City.
