SABA Trading Card German Cruiser Leipzig

This is a vintage SABA cigarette trading card depicting the German cruiser Leipzig. The card is from the 1930s and features a colour illustration of the ship on the water. The Leipzig was commissioned by the German Navy in 1929 as part of the Leipzig class. It was assigned to the Baltic Sea before the outbreak of World War II. The cruiser saw action in the war, including during the Battle of Heligoland Bight in December 1939. It was also involved in operations against Norwegian shipping and played a role in the invasion of Norway. SABA tobacco trading cards have a rich history and this one represents a great piece of 20th century nostalgia and naval history.
