Japanese natural sharpening stone Tsushima Black Nagura

Quarried underwater from the sea bed of the island of Tsushima. Commonly referred to as ‘Ocean Blue’ (Aoto) Tsushima

They are very clean and uniform stones with no inclusions or lines.

5 sides of the stone are sealed with Cashew Urushi + rice paper, which helps

to seal out water

Great stone to use for knives, tools, razors, etc. The slurry breaks down quite nicely and has an interesting feel

The working surface has a chamfer of about 0.6cm on the long dimension and deep for about 0.2 cm as can be seen in the pictures (I tried to capture it better in images 5 and 9)
